True RMS is actually the Peak value divided by the Square Root of Two. But like I said before, my friend who works there said the values that are spec'd for the car are RMS values NOT peak values. I doubt most people will max the system out. There are 25 Watts to each of the three front speakers, which are mainly tweeters...thats is really really loud in a confined space. The doors are 100 Watts to each 9" woofer. The rears 12.75 Watts. I am looking at the spec right now and these are the RMS figures. Yes, they could be lying and No, I wont post the spec online..sorry.

The bose system in no way has 300rms watts.I replace the bose amp with a Phoenix GOld Titanium 500.4 which is 75rms x4 chanels= 300 true rms(CEA certified). It sounds much louder, clearer,& cleaner. That little bose amp cannot put out 300rms watts!

How did you replace the amp. What did you do with the center channel?

There are 3 amps in our system. the one under the rear dash is ~100 Watts ( 3 x 25 W for the Front + (2) x 12.75 for the rear). The Doors have (2) 100 Watts amps for the Front Subs. I had an Eclipse premium amp in my old car that did 85Wx4 rms... I miss it dearly.

My car was gutted out & there's only one bose amp that was found.

Have you looked to see where the Front subs get their feed from? The spec shows 2 amps, each is mounted right behind the speaker after the harness. From the looks of it, it doesnt look like a large amp. I think I found it in your picture. I edited your pic, but I have no place to host it. Send me a PM with your email and I can send it to you if you care

Where did you find the spec that saids the Rx-8 Bose system has 3 amps? I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just curious & want to know about it.

It's ok, I just don't see the amps.Neither do my installer. Can you at least describe where it's located exactly so I'll take a look at it myself?
