Kind of Off-Topic - Client asked BlueTooth Question...

I've got a client (I'm a branding/marketing guy) who knows I'm a car guy. Yesterday he asked my opinion regarding his next purchase: 04 Range Rover or 04 Land Cruiser. This guy's got more money than we could imagine. So the reliabilty of the RR's a non-issue. Plus, it'll be under warranty while he has it.

I recommended the RR - styling, appointments, etc. I just love those things!

The only issue is that the 2005 comes with integrated BlueTooth. The 2004 does not. I told him he could have that installed after he buys it at a good high-end stereo shop.

Did I mislead him? Where/how can he get BlueTooth installed in his $75,000 RR?

Thanks... I know we all seek to aid the rich

bluetooth for what though? I would assume for handfree phone. In that case, the best option is always the factory, however, I believe RR is usually pretty good in being able to supply factory parts to an audio shop. My audio shop just did some work on a RR and installed the factory tv tuner and a few other options. So maybe he could just get the factory part, and have the audio shop install it? The other option is to get a bluetooth handsfree kit compatible with his cell phone manufacturer. These are easy to install in any car.

Hope that helps!

Good point - if he isn't happy with the aftermarket options, he could get the parts (from the 05 when it releases) and have a shop install them. Otherwise, the cell phone/PDA manufacturer is the way to go.

Thanks - that does help.

um...take this thread to another forum or atleast the general car discussion...this isn't directly related to the 8 and on top of that, the question of aftermarket bluetooth has already been covered in another thread...look around, as I am too lazy to find it for you
