My keyless entry system quit working about a week or 2 ago. I thought it was the battery, so I replaced it yesterday and it still won't work. Is there some kind of reset I need to do after a battery swap? Maybe some kind of fuse to check? What about a reprogram sequence?

WHICH 'keyless' entry are you referring to? The Key FOB/switchblade type, or the credit card smartkey that came with the shinka's and i think newer model RX-8's??

i know from experience that the credit card smartkeys can be fried from putting them in the smae pocket with certain cell phones or other RFID devices.... it doesnt happen from just one time, but over the course of a couple months.

my keyless is a normal remote. I don't have a switch blade or card. My car is an 04, btw

 

same thing happened t mine. got weaker and weaker and ultimately stopped working. never figured out out. have the same car...same FOB.... lol same color

 

Ok so i bought my 04 rx8 about 3 months ago, im having the same problem as you r. Did you ever figure out the problem? I checked all my fuses, bought a new battery for the keyfob. Could it be a relay or sumthin? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
