Just bought used rx8 keyless entry doesnt work at all with or wiht out a battery. I believe the previous owner disabled keyless entry and a few other things. Im tryign to get keyless entry back up and running but having a lil bit of trouble.

I have the wiring diagram but having hard time getting the layout for where the keyless entry goes and where it connects to. there a wire below my steering column that is unplugged and eletrical taped up.

A lil bit of guidance would be help full ill take pics of the disconnected wire so even if it has nothing to do with keyless at least might be able to identify it.

the pic of where the connector leads is a lil bright cause of flash on cell camera. But it connects on right side under the steering wheel(right as if your in driver seat). Id say the position of the connector is a lil bit back from the ignition on other side. Sry if explanation is a lil off.

 

I have the same problem. Did you figure anything out? There's a long black wire that's disconnected in the steering column area.

Anyway, I got the electrical pdf file out and looking, but I really can't tell what color those wires are. Can you post what color they are? Looks like three wires, but can't tell.....please confirm that as well. You know the keyless entry module is on the right side of the passenger foorwell right? Is it even there? I believe it has three plugs going to it and they are in a vertical line when looking at it.


BTW...........W/G for instance, would mean a white wire with a green stripe.

This maybe part of the connector for the radio control switch since after market radio was installed before i bought the car.

I included some pics of my keyless reciever idk if the black area was supposed to have connector or something. as never seen stock working unit.

I already have wiring diagrams for the car just cant find the colors for that one connector.

its time like these i wish i could find the person that owned the car before the dealer. Oh well as u solve one thing u find others, If anything ill just try to get an after market keyless entry and figure out if there was remote start for the car as the previous owner bypassed the clutch switch so dont have to push clutch down.
