FL Keyless door problem

I have a 2006 rx8 shinka with keyless system. Issue i have is the trunk works pressing the button on the car but the front doors do not. They all unlock/open with the key remote but not by pushing the button on the front door handles. What do you think is wrong and what parts do i need to buy. Does it need new front door antennas?

The front doors doesn't have antennas and it's a completely different system from the trunk button. Are the passenger side buttons work or not like your driverside, how about the windows and adjusting the side mirrors?

Everything works except the outside button for both sides on the outside door handle. I push the tiny rubber button outside the door on the handles and does nothing. I have the SMART key FOB. I'm not talking about inside the car.

The "key" light on your dash, is it green or red?
The internal antennas rarely go bad. If the key light on the dash is red, I would first suspect the antenna that is behind the bumper right above the tag.

Here is a diagram showing all the antennas and their locations.

6630A - BODY RELAYS & UNIT. Fits: Mazda | Jim Ellis Mazda
As I understand it just one bad antenna will disable the black button. Does the keyless start option still work.

The first thing I would try though is put new batteries in your key card.

Everything works except the door handle push buttons. Light on speedo constantly flashes (Red car icon with key symbol). I tried removing the back bumper and cleaning the connector and such...no luck. Tried pulling both battery cables and let sit for over 10 minutes...no luck. Tried resetting with brake pedal pumping and odometer reset...no luck. Tried everything i could find on this forum so I'm guessing its a bad bumper sensor. I'll have to take it to Mazda and confirm i guess. Can't find a used sensor anywhere and i'm not wanting to pay $275 for one.

EVERYTHING WORKS...just not the handle button. I gave up on this but it has been bugging me and i want it to work. Again everything works in the car...it starts without key, truck opens without key by pushing hidden button, windows, mirrors, everything works except both door handle black button on the outside.

was this a new to you car?

Has it ever worked for you at all?

I really do not think the antennas will go bad, rather maybe the connections do. I would again check the connection of the antenna behind the rear bumper. Pull it apart, clean it up real good and connect it again.

If that does not work I would pull off the front door panels and check the connection of the antennas there. Each door has one. It is possible that over time of closing and opening the door one of the antennas connection could of came loose. .

Also while at it when the door is open really press on the door harness where it goes into the body of the car, Long shot I know but you never know.
