Ok I don't have my 8 yet so can someone answer these questions for me plzzz..

1. Does the US 8 come with a illuminated gear shifter??
2. Can you fit an illuminated gear **** in a US 8??

I appologize if these questions have already been posted, I did do a search but never found an answer..

 

No, it doesn't come with one, and no, it is not an option in the States, the only optional **** is a leather wrapped for an automatic.

However........if you check out Canzoomer's thread on ordering from Japan, it is quite 'do-able'. JT Imports website lists them also.

what a really, really would like to find out is if we can get that leather boot in a different color besides black, for instance in winning blue..

As far as I've understand, OEM only comes in black, red and brown. If you're looking outside of these colours, you'd have to go aftermarket or custom job.

 

The leather colour options on RX-8's are black, red and taupe.

The shift boot is only in black.

I too wish i could get Winning Blue leather bits..

 

if you want it bad enough get it done custom by a shop
IMO it would look awesome

 

the problem with this, is that is hard to find a matching blue.. so far i haven't been able to.. i also tried for leather sits back in the day.. the blue is way off..

 

Mine is coming in this week. I'll take a photo and post it after the installation.

youre right custom jobs dont always match but they can depending on how good the shop is and how **** the customer is about it matching

 

when i say off, i mean way off matching.. we put them next to the car and is a no no
