Question Homelink Failure?

Upon arriving home today I found my Homelink wasn't working any more. I tried to reprogram it following the instructions in the manual and I couldn't get it to erase or indicate that it was doing anything. When I pushed any button all I got was a single red flash. All three buttons respond the same. The auto dimming mirror still works so I don't think it's a wiring problem.

So I called the wonderful folks at Homelink and spoke with a customer service person. He indicated that there was a known wiring issue in the RX-8. He gave me 02032004-02 as a TSB number but it's not listed on Rosenthal's site.

Has anyone else experienced a failure of the Homelink mirror? Has the hot Texas sun finally fried my mirror's circuitry?

I have not had a problem yet but, the fact she gave you a number is very intresting. If you take the number to mazda , keep use updated. Thanks for the heads up.

You may have a "Rolling" code garage door opener like me...You will have to get a ladder and push a button on the actual unit that raises the door to program the homelink. Read the instruction manual to do it as I don't remember the actual sequence of events required to program the remote. But it is a bit of a pain as you only have 30 seconds from when you push the button on the motor to get your remote programmed.

Unfortunately I haven't had any problems programming it prior to the failure. Programming it to work with my Craftsman Code+ units was never an issue. If anyone else has experienced a failure or has knowledge of the TSB, please do chime in.
