Help! Lights in center panel doesn't work after tape deck install

After being inspired by OverLOAD's successful install of a aux-in through a tape deck (https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-how-add-aux-tape-module-10530/), I too successfully installed it. Everything works, at least I thought everything worked, until I realized that when i turn on the headlights, the lights for the buttons in the center panel no longer light up!

Does anyone know if it's because a connector's loose, or if it's because I yanked it a little too hard and a wire broke?

My install was actually a lot longer and painful than what most experienced, since I cut my finger badly through the installation... If I know that it's not a loose connector, I would just take it into a dealership and not bother cutting off more fingers...

Thanks a lot..

If it is a connector, it's likely to be one of the two at the bottom of the panel, not any of the ones on the back of the audio unit. IIRC, you can probably reach them by removing only the gearshift surround and ashtray.

Really? But wouldn't I have to take out that hidden bolt as well in order to yank it out a bit?

I'll give it a shot tomorrow when I get my RX-8 back.. thanks :D
