Heated Seat Problem...
So i did a search and could not find any thread pertaining to my exact issue, so i am started a new thread.
I have an 04 GT with heated seats, well 1 heated seat, that's the problem. My passenger seat does actually get warm when the heaters are turned on, but my driver seat does not. With winter coming it would be nice to have my Butt Warmer up and running. i would check the Fuse, but im assuming they would both be hooked to one. Any Ideas? Thanks ahead of time. |
check the connection to the buttons :dunno:
|
Mine has had the same problem but I really dont use them so I havent bothered to check anything on it
|
The lights on both buttons come on, so it appears that everything is good there. i guess it may be the heater itself or the wires from the switch to the heater. if it is the heater, is that replaceable or not?
|
hmmm...you could try just switching the connectors around to determine if it is the seat or if it is the connectors. Because if the drivers seat gets warm with them switched then you know where the problem is....same thing in reverse.
|
Mine does the same butt (hehehe) opposite. My seat gets warm, but the passenger doesn't seem to.
Dealership told me it was fine, I think they lied. In all honesty, the passenger seat does do something, but it's not nearly as effective as my seat. |

Try looking under the seat as well. |
yea ones black and ones tan but i think they were the same, cant remember cuz its been a while since ive been under there
|
yeah i didnt get a chance to look last night (was helping a friend put a new axle in his integra) but i'll look at it over the weekend.
Thanks for all the input. |
put up a post if you get your seats working cuz apparently there are a lot of people with this issue
|
My seats are both working fine. IIRC, there is a difference in the seat design, one of the seats has heating elements in the bottom of the seat and in the lower back area of the seat, the other has only the bottom portion, not the lower back. If you're thinking that one doesn't work, make sure that this isn't what you are experiencing.

I am currently having this issue as well. My driver's side seat doesn't work, even though the light on the switch comes on. I'll try the swap thing tomorrow or Saturday, as it is really numbingly cold outside right now.
|
any insights? having the same problems.
and there are TWO "seat warm" fuses in the fuse box!! one big, one small, anyone know the difference??? |

I have the same issue here and let me tell u it is freaking cold here in sweden. So i pulled up the diagram and i checked everything from the switches to the connector under the seat. When I disconnected the connector and checked the resistance on the circuit for the heater it appears that there is a short some where in the seat. I tried the same on the passenger side that was working but had a hard time seeing and it got really cold so I came back inside. Oh and yes mine is a normal US car imported to sweden.

I have the same problem as well. The driver's side switch seemed to light up when turned on; but no heat comes up.
I disconected both driver's and passenger's heat warmer switch - they cannot be switched around to tell if one of them is not working because the end fitting for both assemblies are different. My fuse seemed to be fine. I'm not sure what the issue would be. :wallbash: |
I have developed this same issue. I've assumed it is the wiring in the seat itself since it seems to have coincided with the airbag warning light coming on. I have found wiggling the wires makes everything work again at least for a little while. I plan on digging into it this coming weekend as well as my power steering wiring.
|
Looks like I found the solution for mine today, a wire inside the seat cover had been completely clipped. I will post some pics and troubleshooting techniques later.
@otakurx -- Yours definitely sounds like the main connector under the seat is loose some how. If the airbag warning light is going off. I had the same issue on my passenger side and it went away when i reseated the connector |
robbz23, did you have to take the seat out of the car to find this out? Was the connector attached to the bottom cushion?
|
Yes -- I took the seat out and removed the cushion. The line going up to bottom seat cushion was broken. I have some pics that will help and I will try to post them today.
|
Hey guys I wrote it up as a DIY with pics from my fix and shots from the repair manual that should help.

Thank you so much, Rob. You the man!

Hey - just so you know I had the 'Power Steering' light come on and the power steering not working. But it was intermittent. I took the car to dealer and he was like "yeah... we cleaned the connector... it works now... no big deal" ... so if you are still having this issue just remember to 'Clean Your Connector' instead of 'Wiggle Wires'

link broken
Hi, I have an issue with my seats, and I am pretty sure they were clipped by the previous owner for some strange reason. However, the link above does not work. It just loads a blank page. Could someone check on that?? Or just repost the pics here?

ummm ok it works... maybe I had to be signed in?
