Has anybody got the OBDII Scan tool to work with the Nav. display??

I was wondering if anybody has got the OBDII Scan tool to work on the stock Nav display to display real time gauges etc..

And if this is possible, is the Palm version powerfull enough to do this??

And ( ) if this is possible, can you switch between Nav, and gauges with the Palm O.S.??

Didn't "thew" try something like this?? - Calling "thew"???

If this is possible, it is something I'd like to do as I think it would be really cool , and I don't need (or fancy) a DVD / MP3 / Mobile Internet functionality, and it would be a shame if I had to install a CarPuter.

Thanks.

it is possible right now if you have a PDA that supports video out...just send the signal into a video in converter for the NAV display (talk to thew he even sells them at rx8garage.net) BUT if you only have vga style output...you could get a basic vga to composite or svideo converter then hook it up to the av in and it would display on the NAV

hehe yes.. and no.. I can make my Palm send its display to my Aux Video in Via my Avelectronic box. That will show me the Palm screen But.. I keep the palm mounted on the dash passanger side pointed at me. IT mounted over that knock out on the Passanger side Dash area.. So I only need to look there so see the display. In other words if you mount your palm up front there then you can have the LCD screen for other stuff to...

Or You hook up a lap top to the Avinput so you can see its video on the LCD .

hope that helps

Thanks for your input thew. It's pretty clear to me now that there's more to this than I'm prepared to deal with at the moment and there's other things I can do. Maybe in another couple of months or so...
