Is the grand touring leather real leather?

Is the grand touring leather real leather?
I've had a sneaking suspicion that the "leather" of the GT seats (the brown sections of tan/black interior) are not actually leather, but some sort of pleather. I know the door panels and the seat side-bolsters are for sure not leather. But the seats I think aren't leather, either. I think this has been discussed before, having come up a few times in my searches, but I don't think a definitive answer was arrived at.

I know the 2004 leather seats feels like plastic and are hard as hell.
The 2006 and up leather are a lot better.
even the edges on the 04 that has a lined pattern and feels like hard plastic is leather. it is somehow pressed or stamped. the interior guy said that was the first time he seen that,plus almost all cars except higher end it is leather on top and vinyl on the back and sides and when say sides i mean where the controls are
