So, I'm a little interested... I have black and red leather interior, and would like something that matched the seats a little better...

PM me if this sounds doable, and with more info.

Thanks,
-Dennis

Yeah; thanks. I have an all-black (really, part gray) cloth interior, and a red car, so I'm asking for a black boot with red stitching. I almost went two-tone, red and black, but I think just the red stitching will be enough to add some color to the interior without going over the top.

Last night I removed the boot, as I said. It was easy. First I unscrewed the shift **** and set it aside. Then I slid back the center console, reached into the shift boot area and pulled firmly up on the whole panel surrounding the shift boot. It is held in with seven or so clips all around its edge. The clips released without breaking and the panel came up, except for corner nearest the E-brake handle. Then I wrapped electrical tape around the tip of a flat-bladed screwdriver and popped up those last few clips. No breakage anywhere.

After removing the panel, I unscrewed four screws holding down the shift boot, then removed the boot and pulled a little padding out of the inside. Until I get a new boot, I'm driving around with the panel back in place. It doesn't look too bad.

I'll let you know how the new one turns out.

Very cool. I will be sure to post a review when I have the new one installed. I expect it will be very nice, based upon the photos on your web site.

This sounds very cool. I'm really looking forward to the finished product being available for purchase.

I really hope a two tone red/black leather is available and is a good match with my interior.

I can't decide! Driving me nuts. Right now, I'm still leaning toward black with red stitching, but two tone (red and black) could be cool. I think I'll Photoshop it at home so as to visualize it.

Any opinions? Again, I have a Velocity Red car with the gray and black cloth interior. I have no other red inside, except for the seatbelt release buttons and some stuff on the dashboard.

go for the red stiching--nice and subtle--you could get black/red shifter and e-brake handle to cap it off. The red console lid covers would look nice-but it may be too much for you not to have any other red in the car.
