Yes, I have them installed

Yes, they look good.

Define "easy"

Installation requires identifying and tapping into certian wires in a wire harness. The harness is located behind the drivers side kick panel and requires that the dead pedal (on MT cars) and some of the door weather strip be removed to gain access. The area that you have to work in is a bit ackward to access and you have to route wires under the carpet and behind the center console which is a maze of wiring, heating ducts etc. You have to dress the wires neatly and secure them with plastic tie wraps so that they stay in place. Then you have to re-assemble the entire works. Depending on your mechanical skills its any where from moderately difficult but straight forward to impossible. If you feel confident changing your own oil, replacing brake pads and wiring up your home theatre system then you should have no trouble. I found the insructions to be pretty clear and had no difficulty following them. If your mechnical ability is challaged by changing a light bulb or hooking up your X-Box, leave it to a pro.

I did have one problem which is discussed in the following thread.

Thanks for the info, but sounds like very complicated to me.....
Do they stay on when the doors are closed? or driving at night?

Wired per instuctions they're supposed to turn on when any door is opened and stay on about 10 seconds after the last door is closed. Day or night.

Wired with my mod they turn on when the courtesy lights come on (including when the car is unlocked with the fob) and turn off about 8 seconds after the courtesy lights go out.

I considered wiring them in parallel with the courtesy lights, however I was concerned about possibly damaging the keyless entry module with the extra current. It should be OK but I decided to be cautious.

I have them installed. They are cool but they go out 10 sec. after you shut the door(s). I had the dealer install mine. Got them from Trussville Mazda. Unless you are a wiring whiz, don't attempt would be my advice!

If the lights go out in 10 sec. after closing the door...........i might consider not to get it.
BTW, what colour are the lights?

that does look cool. this is not all that related, but seems the jdm cars have puddle lamps under the outside mirrors that light up when the doors unlock. ours don't have it. does nobody here like those? i think those're pretty cool, too

Have a question guys, does anyone know the exact and proper operations on these foot lamps?

What I mean is under factory installed, should the lights be on all the time with doors open, or is there a timer on it

Ive read through the posts and threads but I dont see a definite answer, seems like some get it working right and some dont but what is the real way it was designed to work?

Thanks for your help, i would ask my guys but they busy today

Z

As designed, the foot lamps should be on whenever any of the doors are open and turn off 10 seconds after the last door is closed. The hot line comes directly from the room fuse so I don't think there is a timer that will shut them off after a certian time if the door is left open.
