There were a few threads a while back about owners who did not have the driver side rug hook installed when they got their '8. In some cases they did not even have the hook and in others they got into arguements with the dealer about installing it - esp on the motorized seats.
I found the hook in my glove compartment. I went back to the dealer and they took 10 minutes to install it.

You could try wedging the mat underneath the dead pedal and I guess feel around for that peg underneath your seat. If not, take it to the dealer. I think that there was a pic in the Canada forum of the actual peg.
Edit: I found the thread for you

ok I was at the dealer today and they did not know what the hell am talking about,
Its not in the service parts book and the tech guy did not know how to deal with it he started making calls and all that and he's like i don't know what to tell you man.
I was like forget it .. so i left my car to get an Oil change and went and looked in the new 8s and it hade them on the car so i told the tech guy what and how it looks like and he still did not know what's going on any ways so I cant even order one if I wanted to because their is no part number for it for some reason.

The hook comes bagged with the floor mats. When the dealer PDIs the cars they are supposed to install it. If it is not there it is the dealer's responsibility.

I took my car into the dealer today, and they gladly installed the missing floor mat hook. I didn't have to beg or anything. For the record, I took it to Oak Tree Mazda in San Jose, CA. This was my first time at that dealer, and I would high recommend them.
