Fiberglass Center 1-DIN slot.

I am looking for someone that can / would be willing to mold a fiberglass replica of the center console with a 1-DIN slot in it.

From the measurements I've taken and the picutres I've seen, I believe this is possible. It may need to bump up slightly toward the front to accomodate the opening, but I think it can be done.

If you can do this work, would you kindly mention it here?

If you would be interested in having a 1-DIN slot in your top dash, also mention it here so that any person that can do it would have an idea of the potential customer base for such a thing.

For those of you who are wondering 'why?', there are several reasons.

Some of you might want a non-stock head unit but don't want to mess with the dash. Others might want a computer display there like this one:

Others have mentioned that they would like some kind of storage unit there to make use of all that wasted space (if you don't have the nav).

Thanks all,

eXe

In case anyone was monitoring this thread for uses other then an LCD display, I just wanted to post that we now have a source for this center 1-DIN slot.

Please see this thread for more information.

Looks like the first viable option..

I'm interested in keeping all the rest of the stock features, but adding this as well. Do you know how much depth the DIN slot will have? As that will big a big factor on exactly which screens you could put in it. I'm concerned that there may not be enough depth. Also, this doesn't prevent the functioning of the LCD screen at all does it?

Regards,
