And to answer your other questions,
More info is needed on your door, as in does it unlock and lock with the factory switches and key fob, or does it never unlock unless your manually do it. Could be a bad connection on the wiring or something else, Im going with a bad connection.
And oil is a taboo question that has been beat to death in thousands of post across this forum

Then you need to take the car back and have him wire the door lock/unlock correctly. The door lock/unlock on the RX-8 is operated by GROUNDING the wire, not by powering the wire. Also, most modern viper alarms have internal relays for the lock/unlock circuits, so an external relay is not required. External relays are only required if the alarm model only provides positive lock and unlock trigger signals.
Depending on the viper alarm model you can wire the circuit one of two ways:
1)
a) connect the "Factory disarm" wire from the alarm to the RX-8 door trigger wire
b) connect the "Factory arm" wire from the alarm to one lead of a 1K Ohm resistor and then the other lead of the resistor to the RX-8 door trigger wire
2)
a) connect the lock common wire from the alarm and the unlock common wire from the alarm to ground.
b) connect the "unlock normally open (input)" wire from the alarm to the RX-8 door trigger wire
c) connect the "unlock normally open (input)" wire from the alarm to one lead of a 1K Ohm resistor and then the other lead of the resistor to the RX-8 door trigger wire
In the RX-8, the door trigger wire is the light green wire in the driver side kick panel at the door harness.

See before I got the viper alarm for my car, and I would use the key to unlock all the doors. The passenger would never unlock or lock. But the guy at the shop got it to unlock but not lock. So could it be something besides the wiring
