Factory Nav Unit Motor Control

OK folks,

I've been pouring over post after post and can't seem to find what I need, so I'll try starting my own thread.

I have the factor motorized NAV hood with LCD. I don't have the rest of the nav system.. I've been struggling with trying to get the hood to open and retract properly. I'm close, since I have the buttons lighting up with dimmer, the LCD comes on, I have RGBS input displaying on the screen, and when I press open (after manually opening the hood) it motors closed. When the lid is closed, OPEN and TILT don't do anything. I have the B+, ACC, Ground, ILLUM+, ILLUM- wires all connected properly. when I pull ACC power, the screen closes automatically. When I connect the ILLUM+ wire, the lights come on and the display dims. I can't seem to figure out the "remember last position" and the open and tilt functions. I seem to be missing one or more wiring connections that tell the unit that it's live and to use the buttons. I'm using all of the factory boards and wiring that came with the dash hood assembly. Can someone clue me in on what wires are what on the two plugs on the back of the hood unit.

Eventually, I'm upgrading to a CarPC with a Xenar 700 touchscreen, but I want to maintain the sweet factory controls.

Thanks!!

So, no replies from the masses out there. I've gone another route, and designed a microcontroller from scratch (Based on a Basic Stamp 2 chip). Essentially it's a circuit and a controller chip that's programed with a simple language. It can be made to mimic anything the stock board does and more.

Right now mine:
Opens on pressing the open button.
If the unit is already open, the open button closes
Tilt button tilts about 5 degrees closed each button press
Both buttons are illuminated and dim with the stock dimmer.
On open, the board sends a start signal to the PC
I'm using the AMP wire on the PC Power supply to send a power on signal back to the screen.
I haven't quite figured out the "remember last position", but I'm close.
The new board is quite small, about 2" x 4" and uses the stock motor and POT for screen position.
I'm also working on slowing down the screen, since it pops open pretty quickly on a full 12V and tilts a bit too fast as well.

I mounted the PC in the back storage pocket, in front of the spare tire. Nothing looks different than stock from the outside. Slim DVD drive in the rear compartment, where the NAV DVD would have been. I'm looking at trying to reloacte this to the Ashtray, if I can figure out how to make it look good. I always buy extra parts off eBay before trashing the stock plastic

I'll post some pics when I get it all looking professional.
