DVD Nav - DVD Playback Capabilities

Can anyone here tell me...

with the nav system can you remove the maps disk and play a normal dvd in the drive? If you can't if i were to get an after market dvd player could i easilly hook it up to the screen and will it still play the maps dvd?

Not really an important feature but i would like this ability, especially on long trips i can allow my passenger to watch movies.

Lots of threads on this. Check the Audio and Electronics forum or use the search feature. Having video playback is also illegal in most of North America while you're driving.

if it is soo illegal why to the new toyota tundra's come with dvd players installed lol granted it isnt anywhere near the view of the driver, it's more for the double cab backseat passengers.

you cant play DVD with the nav system. You can buy aftermarket things to splice into the screen. Many threads of this are available.

Guess I should have clarified that it's illegal if the driver can see it.

You know, what more distraction can a movie add to a driver's workload that's already talking on the phone, smoking a cigarette, eating, drinking, and driving a stick.

You forgot shaving, putting on makeup and telling the kids in the back seat to stop fighting...
