Good find ShinkaEvo, another option for parking light power source, probably the best one as all powers and ground are in the same area, except the +12V ON.

Mazurfer: I was trying to look for a reusable fuse tap, however all I could find at my local electronic supplier was one I posted, but then I asked myself how often I would need to replace them? Unless I'm being careless shorting the wires as I do the install, I think the fuse would last the life time of the car.

Ground loop? as in the audio system? your friend has aftermarket audio or stock? sorry a bit off topic, just curious.

Could you upload picture on where you tap the wire for headlight?
At your best availability if you could.
The spot I found it really hard for me to tap, hidden within bunch of wires and I got big hand...

Worst case I'll just tap the cigarette light...

 

Just helping another dude out in this forum, not really a friend. He's got some weird crap going on with his car and yes, it appears he has an aftermarket stereo along with all kinds of other stuff. He hasn't listed it all, just a video showing his gauges and I can see all kinds of other stuff in that car. Even electronic gauges can suffer from ground loops if you got one or some running around that car. Unfortunately I can't take pictures without taking off my steering column again and unbundled all the wires.

If you get a 12V probe pen as shown below (only cost a few dollars), it will only take you less than 5 min to find it, that's how long it took me anyway, believe me it is very easy, BUT mind you they're only 5V!! my gauges can accept 5V as sensing switch so I have no problems using the light stalk harness.

With the 12V probe you just clip the alligator clip onto the chassis (I clipped onto door hinge) and probe around the harness, at the same time constantly turn on and off the driving light for each wire, took me about 5 min to find the one that goes on and off as I turn the light stalk, the light stalk harness is very easy to spot, when you take off your steering column cover you will know what I mean.

Get this, I paid about around $6 from many years ago, it's like a biro with a 12V bulb inside it.

I think I have come across this thread yesterday and had a brief read, I got a bit of headache after going through a few posts LOL, and it seems his aircond controller ***** not working, car doesn't start well etc etc. I would think he should go back to square no.1 by de-modding everything for the sake of trouble shooting, then tackle one item at a time. Hmm... a bit off topic here but I'll post on the thread later on

His latest post seems to indicate he should rip it all out, fix basic problem(which might be a just a relay), and then go from there.
Was hard for me to figure out all he was saying.............linking, etc. Now, I finally think we are almost back at square one.

Back at the PODS... btw Mazurfer, is the POD you have a twin 52mm or twin 60mm? and how big the gap between the upper pod and the dash hood? I have the twin 60mm pod and the upper pod is only 4mm or less away from the dash hood, which I think is a little close although they don't touch, that makes cleaning hard.

 

The reason why the gap between the pod and the dash hood is so close to each other,because you have the 60mm pod" bigger in sizing" and serveral reasons.
1. i made the top pod lower to avoid hitting the windshield and avoid hitting the dash
Because the 60mm pod is too big and do not have vehicle to test fit for every pod,so i base them off from the 52mm pod"height and clearance"

The gauges looks good btw!

 

No problems at all, I'm loving the pods! and as I thought you didn't have a RHD car to do any fine tuning with, I looked again this morning, the upper pod is actually ~3mm from the hood just enough for me to slide a cleaning cloth through, this is no biggie since the pod and hood make no contact at all, one good thing though, the two pods contour around the steering wheel nicely, and most importantly the gauges are pointed at my chin, which I think is nice and spot on.

Are you not making these fantastic pods anymore?

 

FYI......mine is a dual 52mm and even then it's kinda hard to get behind/around it to clean.....................but I manage. Well worth the price of admission!

Gauges are Shadow BF Pro series, Taiwanese branded, with external controller pad like the Prosport premium I think, except I didn't connect the controller pad as I didn't want too many things in the car, has peak memory recall, adjustable warning beeper/light, brightness adjustment for day and night etc, very good quality gauges and don't cost an arm.

Whoa this really looks nice great job, i have one question...........will these be in the way at all of the A pillar air bag if it was to go off in a accident? maybe could you confirm and post back.
i have wanted to do something similar to this but don't want to make a potential flying object in a worse case scenario.

OK So I got my Dual 52mm RHD pod a few weeks ago now but find that my AutoMeter Ultra-Lite Vac/Boost gauge is to deep for the pod Other than the PLX ones (which I love) has anyone else fit a Vac/Boost gauge and had it fit without sticking out from the pod?

 

Answer is no, not in the way. If the pod is in the way, then your dash hood, steering wheel will also be in the way, someone had shown a pic of crashed rx8 with curtain airbag deployed, and it is clearly shown that air bag is no where near A-pillar.

 

I'm using the AEM VAC/Boost gauge
Fits no problem

You need to replace the fitting with the 90 degree elbow in order for the gauge to fit....

There are more than 50 members from 6club running Autometer gauge in my pod by replacing the fitting for the vac....
