What are they made out of? Does it just start with a regular vent? Is the entire thing custom? It would be a shame to get one just to cut the pods off. I am thinking it would be a great GPS mount as well. That would mean a flat plate instead of the pods though. Either way, this looks like a beautiful piece of work.

I'll try and answer you.
There are a heavy molded plastic..........not sure of the exact composition.
It's all custom. You pop out your vent and this one(either single or dual) pops right in.
In other words, the POD is attached to the "new" vent, the whole thing is one molded piece.

I'll point you to my thread(s) with some more pics if you wanna see it. Oh, and when my dual gets in......I'll have a single 52mm for sale!

Don't think Ben will mind...................here's a pretty good pic of the dual pod and you can see it's one molded piece including the vent.

Teaser pic for you..........Ben.

Both are in and capable of turning on(and did so, one at a time), but am going to redo the wiring a little bit tomorrow. Then I'll take some pics with both of them on.

Ignore the wire bundle hanging down over the A/C vent, that was from my old setup and had not been removed yet when I took this pic. It has nothing to do with these gauges.

Sorry it's kinda out of focus!

Thanks Again!

Dave

^.............he has all different combo's.
Mine are both 52mm, but he had molds for both 60's, or 60mm bottom and 52mm top. It's pretty much up to you.

So how are you guys running your wires if you dont mind me asking? through the AC vents somehow? Sorry for being naive I just never installed gauges in that location before.

Let's see what Shell decides to do. I'll take better pics of mine tomorrow and write it up a little bit on what I did.
See the "teaser pic" up a few posts. Mine are both 52mm and install is done up there.

Hey Mazurfer, I am curious how you are running the wires. My pod is on the way and I have the gauges in hand. Any info would be appreciated.

Pics and a little description will be up later tonight or tomorrow in my thread. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=163434
Took the pics with both gauges fired up this evening, just gotta eat and then maybe I'll work on getting them loaded.
I post pics here too, but not the description on what I did. Don't wanna clog up Blockheads thread.

What gauges are you using and what do they wires look like? I ask because mine is sort of a special case.
