Door speaker problems...

I have an 04 RX8... Ive noticed when i have the stereo on the speakers by your feet go on and off at will. Its whether im driving or sitting still. Ive taken the door panel off to check out connections, all seemed fine. I have the knowledge and skill to take anything needed apart, or whatever needs to be done.

Any ideas?

Time for a new pair of speakers I think. I've got a set of door woofers for an 07, but I don't know if they changed the connectors for it. the crossover is certainly located differently (its now mounted in front of the woofer. must do wonders for the acoustics).

The dealer might have OEM replacements pretty cheap. Or a pick and pull junkyard...

It might not be a speaker issue.... it might also be a amp issue...

you could use a multimeter to check for a broken wire between the amp and the door speaker i suppose. I think forbidden may be right about the amp though. it makes a bit more sense.

when was it built.. still under warranty?

if you take it in they can trace it for you.. but they will charge for the diagnosis hours... might take it off the bill if you get the work done there tho. might be cheaper just to get a new amp and test it out. could be a short anywhere in the wires tho
