Door rattle with loud music?

Some music when I play it loud, rattles my door a bit... I can't figure out where it comes from.

Anybody else?

There are 2 styrofoam pieces inside the door panels that are pretty loose. I installed new speakers and put dynamat over the door panel to hold the styrofoam. no rattles. Here's a link on how to remove the doors.

I had this same problem. I took mine to the dealer and they put some extra insulation in the door. Problem is gone.

Going to print this out and take it to my dealer. Already told them what it was, but I don't think they believed me.

This may sound obvious, but check to see if you have anything in your door pockets. I had a pen in there that was rattling.

I only noticed mine in cold weather. Now that it's warmer, the rattle is gone.

Also, I thought I had it. It turned out to be a few coins in the hidden coin holder.

I get a door buzz/rattle with deep bass, and like some of you, it's intermittent. All I can figure is that whatever's in there buzzing only resonates with very specific frequencies on specific songs. I had a similar problem with my Miata, and I was just on the verge of foaming the inside of the door with some sound-deadening stuff when it just stopped. Weird.

That's so weird, i have 900 miles on mine, and i just heard that raddle today! it was kind of annoying cause my old POS VW used to rattle. So there was a recall for that eh?

I've brought mine in a few times and told them to check the things posted on the forums, like the insul. and the wires... but they never could fix it! So they ended up getting me a whole new interior door (Get it installed on Thursday.) lol.

Dynomat worked! I took it in and they took the doors off. The dynomat was applied and I tested it all rattles and squeaks are gone. Just an FYI, there are actually 4 styofoam blocks in each door. We discovered 2 more when we took the interior panel off for the dynomat. All trace of buzzing, rattles and squeaks are eliminated. Plus the sound is just a little bit better coming from the subs.

Wow, I've never heard of a dealer using dynamat. And all this was warranty work?
Also, it's dynamat (not dynomat).

Sorry for the spelling error. It wasn't done at the dealer, instead they got permission from the regional rep to send it in to a car audio shop to have it done. It was the third time I had been in for the same thing with no permanent fix and I simply stated to the service writer that one more time qualified me for the lemon law. The said that they would look into it further and get back to me. The appointment was set and now it's fixed!

My inside rearview mirror emits a lovely rattle (more like a rapid click) when my bass hits. If I reach up and hold it, it's fine. The interesting thing is that I don't believe it's the mirror itself, but the black plastic thingie that covers the wires running to the headliner.

No real relevance here, just figured I'd share.

I hear the rattle noise in my car now too. Although I only hear it in the passenger side door. What side is the one that rattles for all of you, or is it both? I'm gona see if the dealer will fix it...

I only notice it in the driver side door, it could be in the passenger one too but can't hear over the rattle of the driver door. The rattle stops if I lean against the door.

Did you guys get this covered by your factory warranty?

I got the super-warranty the dealer sold me (since it's first model year, new engine and all that) and it had better cover it. I say that since my dealer charges some $83 an hour and has been working on it all day trying to find the source of the rattle.

Bah, you got dynamat, I got "we don't do that". Basically, I have to turn the bass down to +2-+3 range and hope I don't hit a real rumble tone.

I'm going to have a sub installed soon. Hopefully that will let me turn down the bass on the Bose system some and compensate with a real solution.

Ridiculous. I'm SO glad I spent the extra money on a "premium" sound solution.
