Door panels and Steering wheel?

So I just finished installing new leather seat covers from classic soft trim and I did the door panels in leather as well. To be honest the leather door panels felt like a drag and needed more pazaz. I have some black alcantara that I am going to put there instead since I have already done my tunnel cover in that. My question is should I have an upholstery shop do the steering wheel as well? I have a great upholsterer that does beautiful work so that is not the question, rather is that too much alcantara to go with it? The seats came out great too, black leather with black perforation in the middle and red stitching. I figured I would do red stitching on the wheel if I went that route. Any opinions? Anyone want pics thus far?

Here are the current pics. That is the sample of the alcantara for the door.

That looks really nice man. I'm real interested in seeing the finished doors.

Cool thanks! Here is a pic of the door finished. I was really thinking perforated panels but it just would not work with the curves right, just too thick. I have the two front panels finished and I plan on doing the other two tomorrow. I may go ahead and do the roof panel as well, I'm not sure on that yet either as I don't want to go mix and matching with the gray.

That looks really good. You should make a guide on how you did it for The Do It Yourself Forum.

I just got my '08 8 GT - and will be doing the same thing you are....just different colors.

I'd love to see the DIY - the last few cars i've farmed out the work and it was pricey..
