Your shifter is already gated inside the transmission. A plate like that would just get in the way when trying to shift.

I think he just wants the look. You can probably get that machined without too much trouble.

But how can you get that look without it being in the way? Also, since the shifter doesn't sit dead center in the panel, all the gating would be off to one side and it would look weird.

but didnt test drivers always end up breaking the shift lever in the lambos? stupid cheap cars.

remember, a lot of "test drivers" for magazines and shows aren't really car drivers. Some of them just got the job because they were the last to touch their nose in a staff meeting
