Desperately seeking passenger seat advice
Just bought a "new," left-over 2007. I love it but my husband hates the passenger seat. Can you help?
I've searched the forum but the seat postings mostly deal with racing seats or adjusting the driver's seat. My problem is with the passenger seat only and racing seats definitely are not an option.
Here are the complaints, in order of importance to my husband ...
1) The seat bottom bolsters are too high and getting over the bolster means that getting into the car hurts.
2) The seat doesn't move back far enough.
3) The seat is too high (though it's better in this car than the ones we tested w/ a sunroof -- this one is the base Sport model w/ mt).
He's a big guy and would prefer a wider seat. Also, surgery has left him more sensitive in some areas.
So, does anyone have experience with/advice about ...
1. Modifying the existing passenger seat bottom (say, by removing the bolsters)?
2. Installing an aftermarket seat that is more flat?
3. Moving the rails back so the seat will slide further back (we don't mind sacrificing leg room in the back since it's just the two of us).
Thanks in advance.
P.S. This forum has been great for info about checking the oil, about winter tires, about the 1,000 mile break-in, and the like.
