Ok maybe I am overlooking something here. I hope so.

I have a cd changer in my rx 8 and it has a random function on it. It only does random of the current cd. What would be the point of playing one cd on random? If there is some way to get all 6 cd's to play random then I would like to know how to do it. I saw nothing in the manual but I cannot see anyone making a cd changer where it played one cd random that would just be stupid.

 

I really do not think it is possible. And do you really want to wait for another CD to load so you can listen to a random song? I know the time it takes to load a CD in my changer bugs me.

 

You are looking for a "shuffle" feature. You are correct the feature is "random" for the disc that is playing.
