What kind of microphone setup do you use with these systems?

The system in my 8 is Motorola Nextel. The wired microphone is part of the car kit. I located it at the edge of the headliner between mirror & visor.

Re: Mute system BOSE Rx-8

(www.qubit.dk => this company is located in Denmark, Europe)

It is especially designed for the BOSE-systems used in the Mazda's. (Mazda6, Mazda3, Mazda Rx-8)

Just plug and play ! No need to cut any wire !!!
You have the option to select only front or front + rear speakers.
Speaker-signal from mobile-phone is converted to audio-line signal from wich you can adjust the volume.
I will be installing this to use with my Nokia-carkit as soon as my new Rx-8 will be delivered.
Did you connect this to a car-kit for your phone, or just buy a microphone somewhere? It kind of looks like it does everything you need except provide a mic.

Carkit connection

You need to connect it to a complete carkit (black-box, microphone, phone-socket) to meke it work with your phone.
The Qubit-unit itself does not work with your phone directly.
(it is designed to work with carkits)

Qubit-module

Should work with all type of mobile-phone carkit.
If you want to be sure, contact Qubit (mail or phone) and ask them. System looks pretty good though.
As soon as I have it installed in my 8, I will post pictures etc.

Purchasing a Qubit-module

As I live in Europe, I bought it directly from a dealer nearby.
I think it is best that you contact Qubit directly to ask for shipping to USA. Don't think it will be a problem.
(Then you can also inquire about the type of mobile carkits it works with. (I would say probably most common are no problem.) )

Check out their site : www. qubit.dk

The company is located in Denmark, Europe

I have recently sent them a e-mail but have not received a reply. It is hard to tell if they do direct sales, or even sell to North America.

Please post if you find a place to get the unit here.

Looks like I will be going with the Dashlead unit. I called proclip today and was told the unit is about 180 bucks which costs more than the actual carkit. Do you think you guys can provide a step-by-step tutorial of how you guys got the dashlead unit to work? It would be GREATLY appreciated.

If you have Bose you'll need to modify the cable. Once you get it let me know. I'll show you what you need to do.

Thanks! I was going to get it installed at my stereo shop anyways. I just wanted to provide them with instructions on how to do it properly with the Bose system.

The diagram for the voltage divider is earlier in this thread. I advise installing the Dashlead before the carkit, if it's not too late, since it provides power to the carkit.
