I have sold Concept for close to 7 years now, yes it is a good middle of the road brand. Is it a Eclipse, Focal, Audison etc, no it is not. Is it a step up from the likes of Sony, Kenwood, Clariion etc. They have a very large line of speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers.

If you are leaving the factory headunit in, the Audio Control 6XS is the first item that you need to get the system operating properly. It is a must.

The Bose system works on a differential output voltage level from front to rear. The 6XS will allow you to tap into the factory preamp lines at the rear amplifier (center of rear parcel shelf, visible from underneath in the trunk). There will be 5 grey sheathed lines coming into it from the right. These are the preamp lines. It is a simple matter of cutting them 4 inches from the factory Bose amp (so as to be able to put it back to stock at a later date), extending these lines and soldering a new rca end onto 4 out of the 5 of them. Front and rear, left and right make up the 4 lines, the 5th is the center channel IIRC.

What the 6XS is going to do for you is allow a simple integration of factory head to aftermarket amp. It is a stabilizer due to the fact that it has separate gain control for the output stages on the front / rear / subwoofer section. So now your 4 in has 6 out. Next it adds a subwoofer level control so as to allow you to control your sub indipendent of the master volume level or bass control. (a very good thing), next it is a line driver to keep noise at bay and allow the aftermarket amplifiers to operate cleanly, finally it is a great crossover, far superior to the basic ones built into amplifiers.

Do a search for Audio Control 6XS on this site and you should see some results from other people that I have responded to as well. www.audiocontrol.com This car and it's system is a nighmare for most unaware stereo shops. If there are not fully aware of what they are getting themselves into, make sure that you are. Next be prepared for that estimate to go out the window once they finally get started on it. While they may want to use a basic LOC, the 6XS will bring a whole new level of capabilities to the system that a basic LOC will never ever be able to deliver.
