Change the Steering wheel

I wonder if I can install the Mazda 6 steering wheel on my RX8?

They're the same thing..., don't see why you would want to do something like that.

No I have a 03, but in some way that steering wheel has a more sport design than the big rx8 steering wheel. So are you 100% it will fit?

Uh..., the Mazda6 gets the same wheel we do..., really. Size and everything are identical (go drive one!).

Only difference is the front fascia plastic. That's different on the 8.

I have an '05 RX-8 and my daughter an '02 Mazda6. Same steering wheel except for the trim. There are a lot of beneath-the-skin commonalities, which is what helps Mazda keep down production costs, e.g. the temp/radio lcd readout panels are identical.

I really dont understand, how is the steering wheel on the mazda 6 identical with RX8? Just look at those pictures I posted, they are not the same if you by "wheel" mean steering wheel.

My question is if the boss kit is the same on a mazda 6 as the one on RX8

Still its not the same wheel, search on google, type RX-8 interior and then Mazda 6 Interior.

No thanks, as I said I have the real thing(s) right in front of me. But don't let us dissuade you from changing out a part for no good reason.

Then explain to me, when you saying they have the same wheel, do you mean the steering wheel?

The only difference is the front plate...

If you insist on changing a wheel for no reason, feel free. It's your car, your money.

Trust me I have a reason, every action in this world got a reason, now back to my question is it possible to install the mazda 6 steering wheel with the different face plate on to my RX8?

So you're doing this just for a front plate?

Seems excessive. If you want sporty looks, go buy yourself a nice Sparco wheel.

"No reason" was poor phrasing on my part. Of course you have a reason, even if imho it is a seemingly unreasonable reason.

Since they're virtually identical except for cosmetic trim, presumably it is possible to install a Mazda6 wheel (pre-'09) onto an RX-8 (similarly pre-'09).

I would 2nd the recommendation to go with a Sparco tho' for a truly unique look. Allot of bother tho' when dealing with air bag, etc.

Whetever its exessive or not, I just want to know if its possbile? Are the boss kits the same? My current wheel its fuckup, the bottoms dont work any more, and the front plate has scratches and just look old. And I happen to like the Mazda 6 wheel, but i just want to know if it will fit.
