Question center console?

does anyone else here have a good amount of "play" in their center console lid when it is closed all the way? by "play" i mean that it tends to slide left to right a bit. is there anything that you can do to fix this? possibly a way of thickening up the track that the plastic tabs slide on?

I haven't studied the problem but some tiny screws to take up the slack might work better than thickening the tracks.

yup, mine has that, and its an area that tends to break on the 8s. mine has actually come off the track (but not break) 2x before. i just gently pulled it back into place on its tracks.

as for strengthing it, dunno.

there is a HUGE thread on this...oh wait I mean multiple threads

there is a little play but it gets bigger over use then one of the clip pops out or breaks and then it is sliding around a lot...

solution...well dealership reinstalls or replaces clip

or an industrious member actually replicated a machined clip in metal and no more play...no more problems :D
