Well, this morning I switched from a music Cd to a mp3 CD I have played before, and the display started flashing <CD READING>. after a minute, (much longer than usual) I tried to eject--nothing happened. Radio played fine, turning player on and off, turning the car off for the rest of the day changed nothing. if I hit the CD button, the display flashed CD READING continuously.

Mazda service ordered a replacement mp3 player for me but when I got home I disconnected the battery for 10 min, turned the ignition on, played with the powerless HU to try to discharge any memory/active process. When I reconnected the battery, the disc ejected as usual, it was clean and I reinserted it, plays fine.

If it happens again, I may replace the mp3 player. Happy to have my CD palyer back again
