OK- First, I'm trying to find out if I even HAVE the 6-disc in-dash changer (it's an '04, bought used, with every option as far as I can tell- Bose, moonroof, 18" alloys, etc.

I can only load one disc at a time. I've tried to "load" it several times, using the instructions in the owner's manual, to no avail. I can't seem to tell if there's a visual difference between a single- and six-disc player. Mine does have a "disc load" button. Help! and sorry for the stupid question.

 

I think we all have the disc load button of we have CD player at all. I only have the single CD unit and I think I have the load button. You probably also have the tape/MD button although you might not have either of those in your car.

 

My GT 04 has the "load" button but is a single-disc machine.

 

The buttons on the audio head unit are the same regardless of the hardware installed (single CD vs 6 CD vs MP3 player or tape vs minidisc).

If you have the 6 CD changer two things are different:

1. When you press LOAD it displays a graphic of the 6 slots, indicating which ones already have CDS and which one is begin loaded. When you press EJECT, the same display is shown indicating the slot being ejected.

2. When playing it displays both CD number and track number.

If your system doesn't do this then you have the single CD changer and you need to buy the 6 CD changer module (and faceplate) to upgrade.
