can I use my old 6-disc changer??

I'm not a huge audio guy by any means, but in my Probe right now I have a Pioneer head unit and a Pioneer 6-Disc cd changer stashed in the glovebox. The changer is the type that gets controlled by the head unit, rather then the FM transmitter.

Could I take out the cd changer and put in it the RX8 and put some kind of FM transmitter/controller on it??

... I doubt I can but it would be a whole lot cheaper then the factory 6 Disc and I wouldn't have to decide between the MP3/6 disc option, I'd have them both :p

Yes, if you can find an FM transmitter controller for that particular changer, then you can hook it to the FM ant. of any of the stereos, and it will work. How difficult it will be to find an appropriate controller depends on how obsolete that changer is. And just to make sure you understand, you will not be able to control this changer from the head unit, but from a separate display which will have to be mounted somewhere.

Thanks for the info. Can you point me in a direction on where I could look for one at? The changer (its a Pioneer) is only like 2 years old at the most I think.

You can check out http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NLPIubq7uuU/ Crutchfield tends to carry a lot of mainstream car audio equipment; they may have what you're looking for, and if you can do it yourself, you'll save some dough.

Or try a local car audio specialty shop. Not Circuit City or other electronic chains. You have an existing system you want reinstalled, and the car audio specialty shops are better suited for that type of thing.

Good Luck.
