Angry Bose stereo label

Well, this sucks!! Anybody out there experience the same thing I have?

Basically, this weekend (Sunday), I was vacuuming the interior of my car with one of those horse brush attachment. I swiped it across the front of the Bose stereo system, and when it got to the label (audio/tune) above the left hand ****, the stupid thing got sucked in!!! WTF???? Here is a car that cost me over 30K, and a simple brush attached to a vacuum cleaner took out the label!! Now, I have two lovely led that shines at me when I use my lights, and I stopped by Mazda to have it resolved. You would figure that it would be easily dealt with..how wrong I was..they told me I "abused," it, AND to replace it, I have to take the whole freaking unit out and replace it with a brand new one..basically $500 for a @#$# label!!!! Is it my fault that they did not forsee something as flimsy as this label can be knocked off or in my case, sucked off that they don't have replaceable parts??? What do you guys think? I'm waiting for a Mazda rep to contact me and judge the situation..from what little I gleemed on this, I'm **** of of luck..am I wrong in my stance that this little part is defective?? I mean, come on!!! It should not be easily sucked in like that, right?

For those savvy owners out there who know how Mazda thinks, what do you think my chances are that they will foot the bill and replace my unit?

Good news!! Mazda agreed to foot the bill to replace my cd unit because of the stupid label that got sucked into the vacuum cleaner!! I would of just love to replace only the label, but when they built this thing, they didn't think that the label would be sucked into a vacuum cleaner.....

Suffice to say, big points for them on willing to satisfy a customer!!! And Mazda, I'm NOT going to take a vacuum cleaner anywhere near any labels..so..for those owners who are **** about keeping their interior spotless, keep it away or you might not be as lucky as I am on getting Mazda to shell out $500 for a freaking label!!!

Glad they are helping you out! I personally haver vacuumed my dash, so I probably never would have thought about that either.

EXACTLY! I mean, how flimsy is the label that it can be easily sucked into the vacuum when you are taking a brush to it? It would be one thing to knock it off or take the suction directly to it, but from using the brush piece and swiping it across and it being sucked into??? Add to the fact that they didn't consider having replacement parts for that piece if it can come off that easily!! No-brainer, huh?? But, nope, they rather have the consumer shell out $500 for a new unit if they don't want to see 2 LEDS lighting up the interior while driving at night....
