Best source of constant power in dash?

Howdy,

'05 base model manual trans car, no options other than the sport suspension that's on all the manuals.

I need to get a constant power wire for a data system, somewhere behind the dash.

Looks like the radio has always on power available. Is that the best idea? Or is there perhaps a separate fused always on accessory circuit available that's easy to use?

Thanks!

Power draw should be fairly low. Looks like they call out 1 amp.

Must be always on power. Accessory switched power won't work.

Mark

You can find constant power at:

1) the DLC (OBDII) connector under the steering wheel (Pin 9 - Blue/Red wire).
2) the radio connector (Pin B - Blue/Red).
3) the flasher control module (Pin A - Blue/Red wire)
4) the brake switch (Pin C - Black/Red)
5) the brake circuit noise filter (Pin A - Red/Black)
6) the ignition switch (Yellow wire)
7) the fuse box in the drivers side kick panel (Many wires to choose from)

See the FSM section 13... It will give you MANY sources under the dash.

Howdy,

Thanks! Hadn't thought of the OBDII connector. That might mean I don't need to pull the radio to get to it.
