That would not match with the interior of the 8 AT ALL.
BTW, you have the quote in your sig completely messed up. It should be, "A redline a day keeps the carbon away."
Redlining your engine has nothing to do with flooding it.

well you worry about what you want your car too look like and ill worry about mine. never understood the point in responding to someones thread when you dont answer the question what so ever. and no, it has a lot to do with it actually. the last time my car flooded was an excessive amount of carbon on the plugs causing it to not keep a consistent spark and it stalled and flooded out. i took the quote from the technician himself.

Zoom Zoom....
It looks like it would be easy for you to adapt something like this to the RX-8.
First, measure the diameter of the base of our shift boot.
Next, take the console off to study the attachment to the console.
Finally: Go shopping.
(I have no comment on the aesthetics, other than to note that leather shift boots came into being for Luxury cars; replacing the accordion shift boots. Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose. N'est pas?)

sorry but that picture you posted looks like the boot on the joystick i play video games with... lol...but just to answer your question.. a boot like that wont work unless you butcher the surround peice around the stock boot. have you tried to pull the stock boot out and look how it attaches? the rubber would not work with the stock peices.

well i think the white boot would look good since from your avatar it looks like your car is white. but i would think you would want additional white accents in the interior so the boot doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. but check out that link i posted they have some crazy combinations of the leather color and the stitching color/design. the boot will tend to get dirty faster than a black boot but that leather that redline sells is super high quality Italian leather and as long as you clean it with leather cleaner often than the dirt on it wont be permanent, it will just require a little more cleaning more often but that's not a big deal. and by the way, you may think that the prices are high on the boots from redline but i can tell you my original mazda boot looked horrible and got tears in it after only 20k miles, the redline Italian boots will outlast your car.
EDIT* i just had a thought of a boot that would be perfect for your car. go to redline and look at the boots with what they call "tubing" , you should get a black boot with white tubing where the stitching would be..that would look really nice and it wouldn't stick out like a whole white boot..
