Anyone tried LED or Xenon replacement overhead and map lights?

The stock overhead and map lights are pretty weak and I was thinking about replacing them with the Xenon or LED kits from rx8strakes.

Has anyone tried either of these?

I'm wondering what you think of them and which ones to get. I am leaning towards the Xenon bulbs...

It's probably cheaper to buy individual 194 bulbs. VLEDs.com has some nice ones, so does autolumination.com. I have some from superbrightleds.com, but I can't recommend them as their customer service is poor.

I did my interior in all red LEDs, which I think goes with the red car and it does look cool at night. I got all high brightness LEDs so plenty of light for getting in and out, although partly because of the single wavelength of light it's not good enough to read much. Also, if you are actually wanting to read a map, red lines just don't show up too well haha. The other plus is your night adjusted vision doesn't get reset from glaring white lights when you open the door.

Same as Georgia8er, went with all red led's from VLed in the interior. Looks amazing with the Copper Red!

I have blue LEDs on all interior lights except the ones above the buttons on the doors.

To echo pretty much everyone's comments, replacing the bulbs is a relatively simple and worthwhile idea. I have the bright white LED replacements offered by rx8strakes, which were reasonably priced, easy to install (just unplug old bulbs and snap in the new ones), and have a very nice effect.
