Anyone with PS2 slim version in their 8

I am going to put my playstation 2 in my car via dice electronics ipod integration system for sound and avelectronic video switcher for video. If anyone has the ps2 in their car, post pics of where you put it or give me so ideas of a good spot. Also, if someone is using a similar hookup, post any problems you may have had or anything I should be careful of.

I have the Mac Mini in and thinking of putting in the PS2slim.
Both have totally different functions IMO.
My LCD supports 1 vga and 2 video inputs, so both will run concurrently.
Still thinking of a good spot for the PS2slim.
Most probably in the glove compartment.

I have the older PS2 in my car. Kept the slim version in the house. No problems at all. My trunk had a false wall built into splitting the trunk in half across the wheel wells. You can get to the PS2 by opening the rear door console where there is a shelf unit holding the power inverter, bass gauge, PS2 and MP3/DVD player with a/v input/outputs. Brought me second place at a car show of about 250. The three tv's probably didn't hurt.

Not hating by any means guys (I'm a gadget freak), but I'm just curious when you find yourselves playing your PS2s in the car. Like tailgating? Or is it something for you passenger to do on road trips? Just don't get it.

Well, I live an hour away from work and get an hour lunch. Too far to drive home for lunch. So on the days I'm not hungry, I play a game or watch a movie. Helps to kill the time.

I want it for gaps between classes too. When I have long gaps, I can watch some movies on it, or short gaps i can play some games or watch some simpsons or family guy dvds

Ps2 is convenient because it can watch movies too. Cant really hold the controller and the steering wheel at the same time. But sitting in alot of traffic is not too entertaining. So i rather watch the music videos rather then just listen to them.

my aftermarket stereo setup leads me make data cds so i just write data cds with music videos. i could put like 15 or 16 in one cd. if i want audio tracks i could put 130+. and i didnt even try dvds yet. haha!

hey guys, i am looking to do this as well but how does this whole navigation and dvd process work? Will the navigation still work when we put the navigation disk inside the ps2? will the factory control setting still work as well?

Why would you put a nav disk in the ps2? You will need a avelectronic video switcher so your lcd screen will have 2 inputs one for the nav and one for the ps2.

does that mean i have to buy the more expensive video switcher from mazdaparts.com? or would the basic one be sufficient to have the ps2 and the stock navigation player?

You can go with the basic one, thats the one I have. I would get it from www.therpmstore.com , I bought my from mazdaparts didn't like the service and it was a long wait. But remember this is just for video you need something else for audio , I use aux in from the audiolink ipod adapter.

hey hitman, so juss to clear things up in my head, cuz eveything is confusing me. How does the video switcher work? Does it switch from the ps2 to the navigation video source when i press a switch or something? that means i wouldn't have to take out the factory dvd player in the back seat right?
