Alpine PLT-5 on sale
Hey guys.
I'm thinking of adding a subwoofer to the Bose system and found a killer price for the Alpine PLT-5. It's normally $600, but for some reason Crutchfield has them for only $299.
I think someone on the forum has one and thinks is a great subwoofer. Anyone care to share their personal experience with this?

I have it, I paid like $425 ish shipped under a year ago.
I think that, for the RX8, it's the ultimate compromise. It is supposed to sound liek 2 10's, it comes pretty close. It adds the needed thump behind the Bose setup, in as small and light a package as possible. It isn't amazingly accurate, nor stupendously lwo and thundering, btu covers all frequency ranges adequately. It fits down in the well, sticks out some of course, but with a spare tire kit and this unit, I can still fit a set of Golf Clubs.
Someone had a thread about the PLV-7 that I commented on as well... might be worth a look.
At $299 you can't go wrong. It is EASILY three of the biggest bazooka tubes... but better. If I didn't have the bose system I may have built a complete custom install, but the bose is OK, and the 8 is all about lightweight so... goldilocks in action if you ask me, just the right size.

Revvittupp, I'm thinking it will it in the area right behind the seat. I measured this afternoon and it should barely clear the speakers.
I love the looks of this box, and you're right, for $299 you really can't go wrong. I'll have to see if I can get it for an early father's day present.
