im waiting for someone to try this. i asked my parts dept and they said they dont think its possible.

 

The radio and connection is physically different. Assuming the connection can be adapted it might work. If anyone gets a hold of an 09 indash nav, I'd also love to see if it works.. but at this point I doubt it will.

Why would you want to do this? The nav system is the same 2 dimensional nav system, they just integrated it into the dash, and added stereo controls. Just buy one of the new Metra kits, and hook up a car pc, a lot more functionality, and a lot less cash... Just my opinion

 

i'm pretty certain mazda actually reshaped the center console panels so that the 09 head unit does NOT fit in an 08 console like a straight drop-in replacement

wait for the Metra double DIN kit and get an aftermarket setup.

 

i've already called and spoken to metra. there is corksport too.

i just prefer OEM.
