08 nav disks in 04 nav system
08 nav disks in 04 nav system
will this work? |
pretty sure they won't. I believe Mazda changed the manufacturer on the Nav system for 06 and up cars.
There are newer maps available for the 04 nav system. Check with navteq and see what they go for. |

there are updated maps. every once in awhile people will post the updates. search for navteq upgrades.

Mazda used one nav provider for 04-05, and then another from 06-08. The maps for the system in the 04-05s were only updated through 2005 (which, is basically 2004 maps). The 2005 edition cost $200, not worth it for such outdated stuff IMO.
You might be able to switch out the DVD drive of the newer system for your older one, or certain components to run the newer system's maps, but I haven't read anything on it and it would be expensive. I ended up just selling my nav system parts because of the map issue. |
2008 Nav unit
can you fit it in a 2004?
|
I called NAV Tech and they tried to sell me the newest edtion 2008. I have a 2004, the system says "cannot read disc", is this the system or the disc?
