Wings/Spoilers from other cars on RX-8s
No need to be sorry, all said and done I'm sure many people won't like it. I like it very much of course but I have always loved big wings, don't know why. I always thought they looked cool. Supras, Evos, STIs, SRT-4s I really liked they way the wings looked on the rear. Seeing them without the wings for me just looks like somethings missing. But as it appears the fad now is small low profile lips on the very edge of the trunk lid or no wing at all.
I would prefer not to get beat up with comments over it BUT if I didn't want comments or criticism I wouldn't have posted pictures inviting everyone to look at it in the first place. Here is one of the rear.

If it was a a bit wider, to fill the full width of the car, it would be better.
I was looking at a Mustang GT wing and was thinking that would work on our car.

I'm feeling that look. Great idea, and ***** for doing your own thing especially with a "neon" wing. lol. SRT4 got some ***** though, just not a big dodge fan even thought the Ram looks great, and plan on buying one lol..
Thanks for the replies, good and bad. Yea definitely something to my knowledge no one else has done so I had to pave my own way. I really like it and in my little town there is NO WAY to mistake my RX-8 for any other one in town! Here is another pic from the front.

Actually, you have kinda inspired me to do that cause i love it!!, but I'm not gonna steal your idea. How is missouri weather. Are you close to SPFD? That's where I am from.

I like how your wing goes all the way to the edges of the trunk lid, it's a little bit higher than mine tho. What brand or model is it? Or is it from another car?.....
Edit: That's not your car and you probably know nothing about the wing on it?

The wing looks better than I thought it would. And kudos for doing your thing. I mounted the EVO 8/9 wing myself. Bought a replica first but it vibrated heavily at 60+ MPH so I bought the original CF one. Pics in profile. I only painted the sides so top is bare clear coated CF. It's big but I love it. And it's functional which is a big plus for me. CF nose splitter is next. The evo wing gives it a meaner look IMO. And the fitment couldn't be better. It fits exactly on the edges of the trunk.
I don't have to justify anything to anyone
doesn't matter at which speed it becomes functional. Fact is, it is. I didn't say at which speeds did I? As soon as air moves over/under it, it works. Now when it starts to have a noticeable effect is a different matter. But you wouldn't know at which speed that is, since you never tested an evo wing on an rx-8. Lower drag coefficient than an evo and lower roof so it'll catch more air, quicker.
Anyway all I said was it's functional. Which it is so why the unnecessary comment?

We can always count on TeamRX8 to make negative comments about other peoples ideas.
What I like when you look from behind the car is that the sides of the wing are not straight but go out slightly at the bottom then go in. Like the tails on an SR-71. And when you look from the front you can just see them peeking out the sides lol.
can i post it here ? https://www.rx8club.com/general-automotive-49/what-not-do-your-car-92879/

on the trunk of your car and then come here and knock my car? C'mon! It looks like not everyone liked your wing either...
Either way I actually kinda like the wing you have. Looks similar to a cobalt SS wing the way it angles... but I like mine better!
I think it looks like a neon wing on an rx8. Kind of like when you see a big evo spoiler on a honda civic.. it just doesnt look right at all. Im just being honest, no hard feelings. Paint match and debadging looks great though
I still say the best big wing on our car is by far the knightsports carbon fiber wing. Rare to see, and looks killer.

they sent me an email saying it would be $90 or they would refund me so I took the refund.
