Does anyone know if the OEM wing can be removed. Is it stuck on or is it drilled??

 

drilled, and if you take it off more than likely you will have scratches on your trunk.

 

trade trunks with someone who doesn't have a spoiler. Though it would probably be a good idea if the other 8 was the same color, but I'm sure that's just a minor detail.

 

holes are evil. yea look to trade trunks if you can. it's your best bet otherwise you'd have to get the holes filled.

If you have ever opened your trunk and looked at the underside of the lid,,
you would have noticed 4 black bolts on the right and left edges.
These are the mounting bolts for the spoiler.
Take them out and the spoiler comes off.
Now you have 4 holes in your trunk.
Like they said before ,,"find someone to trade with"

 

This is not completely accurate. Yes, you do have to remove the two bolts from the left and right side of the trunk lid...but there is an additional (third hole) on each side which is not accessible from the underside of the trunk. This third hole holds a white fastener/clip. The only way I found to remove this third fastener, was to hit the wing from the underside, to try and "pop" the fastener out of the hole. Once you have removed one side, the other comes up very quickly as you have more leverage on the other side.

You will have three holes on each side.

I know this, because I swapped my OEM spoiler, for the MS one.

yea i remember seeing 3 holes on each side when my friend took off his OEM spoiler. the 3rd hole is behind the cover.

 

wow, must suck taking off your spoiler......i'm glad i got my 8 w/ out it :] but the ms spoiler looks nice ^__^
