Window Tint

I have a Winning Blue RX8 and was going to have my windows tinted but I cannot decide which shade will look the best. I use to have a darker blue RSX with a silver metallic tint which I thought looked pretty good on that car but I am not so sure it will have the same effect on this car. Has anyone used this color tint on a Winning Blue RX8, if so what are their impressions of the looks after the job was completed? My other option would be to have the windows done in the typical dark tint. What are your opinions?
Thanks,

WES

Do you have the NAV? I read on this forum that metallic tint would effect it because the transmitter/receiver is somehwere in the rear.

No, I don't have the NAV. I wonder if it would affect the AM/FM stations as well.

my personal opinion, go charcoal (black) will all cars, im getting 20 or 35 percent,
but if you want to go metallic, get the platinum. most commonly seen on the lexus SUV's

Black 20 on the rear & rear quarters is what I have (Velocity Red) and 35 on the driver/passenger window.

whenson417 - Good point about the radio reception. I don't listen to the radio much, but my reception is terrible. I read that the reception is not to good to begin with, but mine is almost where I don't care to listen to it. I am currently looking into something to boost the reception.

This is a tough decision. Maybe I will srew around with the tint guys and have them tint one side of the car with the platinum tint (metallic looking like I had on the RSX) and if I don't like it have them start over with the dark stuff. The guy I am going to use is the one my Mazda dealer uses to tint their cars so I know he does good work but he is a bit expensive. $260.00 for a job well done I hope.
Why can't they make self darkening windows that darken themselves according to how much light is shining through? Kinda like the glasses my friends wear.

if you can find it go with Madico Onyx film. i guarentee you will love the look. if you can swing it get 15% all the way around...if not go with 30%. its rated a little darker then most films(not 20% or 35%) and it looks amazing on any car. not sure if you can still find it but just find a shop that sells madico film and they should be able to get it.

If you go with any less than 20 on the rear you will need to stick your head out the window to back up. I have 20 on the rear and it's plenty dark. Mr. Ed - what is the issue with 20% or 35% that you say to go with 30% instead?
