Who Has Installed Mazdaspeed kits?

Hi,
in the near future, i plan on getting the Mazdaspeed Front bumper, and Side Skirts installed professionally at a body shop.

For the people who have gotten these two sections, about how much would installation labor cost for the front end and the side skirts? Any ideas??

thank you all.

I installed the front myself.. basic tools: socket wrench, screwdriver.. it seemed more difficult to install the fog brackets.. but it was a snap..

I'm planning to install the rest myself.. the rear under spoiler was messed up when i got it.. so waiting for replacement.. and the side skirts are on BACKORDER.. DOH!

.. MUCH MUCH Better than the fiberglass kit i got previously!

I spoke with a body shop today about having the Mazdaspeed accesories installed, and he quoted me a flat prive of $500 (thats for the whole package), he estimated about 13 hours of work.

I talked to the parts manager about ordering the full package, and the price (to include factory paint) was roughly $4,300

Being someone who doesnt like getting thier hands real dirty, I wouldnt mind too much forking out $5k to upgrade to the complete Mazdaspeed package. Especially since I have seen some of the posts here with people claiming thier dealerships are offering a Mazdaspeed package vehicle for $47k. Mine was $32k even... add $5k for the package, and my math doesnt come close to that.

i did the math on the mazdaspeed kit
cost about $3000.00 shipped painted to me
from rosenthal or trussville.
as for body charging its not that bad 500
i think someone said they paided 800 from dealer.
p.s only problem i would have is rear
but im a d.i.y guy so i would take the day off work.

I paid $300 to have the front bumper with fog brackets, side skirts and rear wing installed -- this also included re-painting the rear wing which I bought at a deep discount since it had been scratched in shipping.

but the real MazdaSpeed package includes more than just the body, i believe there are other parts such as different flywheels, suspension parts, and increased HP, diff Rims, and etc. so with all that in consideration, it wouldnt be far from 47k if ya do all that yourself. it'd still be considerably cheaper, however, the time to do all that might not be worth it for some people.

The rest of my kit gets here today, will install it myself on Friday... I have most of the parts, including the JDM stuff you can't get here in the states. When I am done with my car I will have a complete LHD JDM spec Mazdaspeed RX8 in black... The only parts I will not have are the wheels, front four point strut-bar and mirrors...

No rims. The MS kit comes with stock rims. The others you have seen from time to time for both the A-spec and B-spec are optional.

THe JDM Mazdaspeed RX-8 sold for 3,600,000 JPY. A RX-8 Type S sells for 2,750,000 JPY (the MS 8 has no leather, etc... a sport package base). The salesman at my dealership said that the MS 8 costs a bit less than doing it yourself...

Even so... 47k is @$*)@ crazy. I'd buy an M3 first.

I have the CATS coming and the flash... The VFAD is in the works...

Japan8: We have had several M3s traded here for the RX8, I can already take them on a tight track and when I am done, there will be a supercharger in my mods list... At that point, well we will see...

Hmm... Miami, huh? When I can eventually get my butt back in the US, I might just have to make that trip down to you guys from O-town. You have some mad hook-ups brudda. If you can share, let the rest of us know about the VFAD if it's custom made. If it's MS version... well... c'est la vie.

Did you have to pay insane money to get the ECU flash and Cat?

Actually I had gone to miami the last time I was in Florida (March) to catch a cruise at the port... :p The next time I'm in O-town, I'll have to see if I can swing by.

BTW... I think your rims looks better with the black than the MS rims.

My new mag... Hyper Rev... has a good rim section has the Blitz Ti grey RX-8 modeling various rims. The Volk GT-7 and G-games 77w/VAIO look good. Maybe Volk CE28N, PI Auper Rozza Mono Block and NKB Power NKB Power Cup 3 Piece... all in 19".
