I want to paint my calipers on my black 8. I'm leaning towards painting them red because it will match my interior. I'll prob. also get the heat resistant decals to put on. Should I paint them red or should I use another color? I've done this on many cars before and always like the results. I usually use high heat engine paint. Should I buy caliper paint? Isn't this a powder coat type finish? If you have any pics please post them so I can check it out.

i think red or blk
i did mine but might take the caliper out and powder coat them this fall/winter.
i always use engine paint-it can be found at pep boys & auto zone.it has a big block engine
on the cover, i have maybe done 10 sets of calipers with this stuff.on my car i finished
it off with polakgraphics i got some mazdaspeed decals.i painted the calipers and then put the decals on no problems all the letters are there and it doesn look like its dripping.

How about gold like the G35C's Brembos.

 

red works well because of the tail lights being red.

I think I'm most def. going to paint them red. I just need to find the right shade of red. When I had my 300ZX I had an orangy red that I wasn't crazy about. I want something deeper for this car. I've always used engine paint in the past but saw caliper-specific paint somewhere and it was suppossed to have the same look as powdercoating. I think I might try this stuff.

I was thinking about red, but with mine being green I think I would be supporting X-mas a little to much, so now I'm thinking about going with orange.

I'm going gold on my 8. Like the Brembo's. Good taste Shelley's.....I think the gold on the black exterior will look classy. Heck, I did'nt buy the car to be the same as everyone else. But you know.....red looks good also.

Hello everyone great looking 8's, I have been looking at all the post about painting calipers, some people use kits some not but does anyone know if there is a blue paint out that will work. I haven't seen blue done and on my blue 8 I think that would look best since they are already silver/grey, that would bring them out if they were blue. thanks

Gold and red will do the trick. They always do.

dude you should paint them in black with the rx8 stencil in silver if you want to see how it looks just look at my black rx8 in the picture section, first page. defenetly looks bad *** and if you really take a closer look at the red calipers they look fake and the red will look like crap in a matter of weeks because of the amount of brake dust that the rx8 producess...
