Hi all

Has anyone else noticed any water marks on the inside glass of the speedometer? I initially though I had oversprayed some armorall on there, but after it wouldn't come off, I noticed its on the inside. I don't know how to even go about taking the thing apart. But its driving me crazy to see those little spots in there. No matter how clean my car is, this is always bothering me. And I wonder how the heck those moisture spots got there in the first place.

Any ideas? Does anyone know if its even possible to take the speedometer apart and clean the inside of the glass?

No, I don't have it, but yes you can take it apart. I'd scan the shop manual page, but I don't have a scanner.

Just bought a 2011 Mazda 3 and noticed some stains on my speedometer and odometer... it almost looks like someone sprayed armoural into it..... do the gauges discolour after 5 years ? Can water come from the inside like a touch less car wash? Anyone seen anything like this?

 

Can it also be attributed to temperature changes?
