I have been gone on Vacation some time now and havent been around, so I am glad to be back.

Got my MS kit all on my 8 but I was searching some time ago and could have swore I seen a Viper style hood for the rx8. I would love to fine it again, so If anyone has any idea of what I am talking about please let me know where I may find it again.

I think it would improve the air flow to the K&N after market air filter as well...

It's a japanese tuning site that features a yellow RX with a older model viper-comp coupe style vented hood, right? I can get you that link some time later today if you can wait a bit, as I have it saved at home (i'm at work now!)

Actually, check it.. i found it (if this is what you're refering to) ... it's the R-Magic hood.

No sorry that isnt the hood I was referring to . however thanks for the time you spent finding those pics.

Picture a dodge viper.... Think of the nose of that hood.... there is an almost triangular shaped opening in the very front of the hood.

yeah that is a pretty sweet hood. However I dont like the Crome release pins... If that hood was for the rx8 I would consider it... If it were to operate normally that is.

 

That's the "SCOOT" style hood. I'm totally interested in it. Someone had said that Chuck from Rotary Extreme was producing it, but I sent him a PM quite some time ago and couldn't get a confirmation on price, or that they've even produced it. <shrug> Any additional info on this hood would be appreciated.

Landon, if you ever get a reply from him I'll get on board and order one. That hood would just look awesome on an 8. I am getting tired of the V "rotar" hood. Dont get me wrong guys I love the Rotarary engine and all , however I believe mazda went overboard putting rotars all over the car...
