I received my bumper today. It looks great, except there is a crack on the bottom. Fortunately, I know how to fix these things, so it's not that big of a deal...

Here are the pics of it. Thanks Rodney for your service.

Hey 05Rex8 I'm glad you got it thank you for the business. That is not actually a crack it is a mold release slit because this bumper has so many curves it is hard to get it out of the mold so every kit must be slit there to pull it out of the mold. Post some picks after you paint it and tell me how you like the fit.

If the price is right I might order it to replace my smashed up Mazdaspeed Front Bumper.

My wife is driving the car and she hit a parking block.

Cant wait. Please post those pics.

I like the look...although I'd prefer to keep my clear corners. Looking forward to seeing pics of rex's install.

Anyone have an opinion on whether the front bumper has any functional advantage over stock or compaired to other aftermarket bumpers. I track my car and I am looking for a bigger radiator/intercooler opening which I beleive it has and also looking for an aero advantage, more downforce. I will soon be adding a vented hood so I hope to eliminate air pressure building up in the engine bay.

Thoughts?

Also I am not a big fan of adding sideskirts because they just add weight but I wonder how this bumper would look without them.

As far as the aero advantage, I have no idea. It does have bigger openings for better air flow to radiator/fmic. The only down side is that the bumper is a lot heavier than the oem bumper. For more pix see this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...39#post2716239

rex, I'm assuming that you painted/installed it by yourself? If So how much do you think a body shop would charge for the paint/install? Just figured you might know since you know how much work you put into it.

Depends on color as far as cost of paint goes and quality of clear coat used...
For my bumper, minor body work was needed. I had to fill in some small gouges that were from small air pockets in the urethane. Very minor, I assure you. There are pinholes too, but a good primer or sealer will take care of it. That being said, I would have charged between 400 to 600 including installation and depending on color of paint. You may find prices lower or higher than that, I don't know. Best bet is to get an estimate from a body shop you are comfortable with in your area.
