touch up paint?
My car has a few scratches (none of them go into the metal but they reveal white) and i saw this touch up paint kit from http://www.mazdaparts.org/matouppa2.html.
just wanted to know if anyone has ever used anything like this? what were the results?
i have a brilliant black

i have a brilliant black as well. the touch up paint will not match the paint perfect so you will notice where you touched up. i dont think the touch up paint in the bottle has clear coat so thats why you will notice it. maybe if you cleared over the touch up paint it would look better.i just ordered the touch up pen from rosenthal mazda that has two ends, one with the paint and one with clear coat so maybe that will be better.

Haven't used it yet though and I'm a Ti-gray!

just went out to try it a little. i dont think i would really recommend either for scratches. i think they are better for stone chips. the nice thing about the pen is that it is more precise and has the clear coat on the other end. but i dont think that the flow is that good and it took a while to get the flow going. i think it is just a matter of personal preference at this point. both are good its just a matter of how good you are at using them.

o yea and the tips on the pen are not pointy they look more like a flat head screwdriver which i wasnt expecting. i had to use the corner of the tip to get the precision.

Exactly. I don't know if it's a good idea on the actual paint, but I painted my rear Mazda badge with the touch up paint and then coated it with clear nail polish and it matches just fine. Super-Ghetto-Fabulous! The color matches fine, but w/o the nail polish it was noticably more dull.

Tried it today on my Ti-Gray and while better than the touch-up paint, I would have to agree with all that snipaz has said. It's not a cure all by any means. Maybe with more pratice one would become better with it.
